SWEETWATER COUNTY — At the most recent meeting of the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County Board of Trustees it was announced that local family medicine physician, Dr. Melinda Poyer, has been named the Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Poyer will assist the Board of Trustees, the Senior Administration and staff with issues that may arise in the following areas: Clinical Standards and Protocols, Process Improvement, Evidence-Based Practices, Ethics, Peer Review, Community Health Behaviors, Contracted Providers and Employed Providers. She will also work alongside Federal and State agencies in an effort to improve community health.

Her recent years as Chief of Staff and membership on the Medical Executive Committee and Credentialing Committee as well as her current membership on the Wyoming Board of Medicine have prepared her well for her new duties. Dr. Melinda Poyer has been in private practice in Rock Springs since 2006. She will continue caring for her patients at Rock Springs Family Practice. Dr. Poyer, her husband and their six children reside in Rock Springs and enjoy sports, coaching, triathlons and raising their kids in this ‘great town.’
