GREEN RIVER — Mi Hacienda is opening this Friday in downtown Green River, giving owner Miguel Perez and his family their first restaurant in Green River and third in the county.
Miguel also runs Mi Ranchito and Roasted Jalapeno Taqueria Ariela’s Ara in Rock Springs. Ana Macias and Janis Perez said the family wanted to open another restaurant in Rock Springs, but they couldn’t find a building that suited them. When they saw the listing for a former gaming establishment and bar in downtown Green River, they signed the lease Aug. 6, and renovations quickly started.
The family started with a deep clean, then removed the carpet, installed new flooring and finally repainted. A side room is being converted into a children’s space with a candy machine and photo booth planned for the future.
The restaurant was ready to be opened in early September, but the opening was delayed while the family waited on custom hand-carved and painted tables imported from Mexico. The tables arrived Wednesday night and were installed, letting the family finally set a soft opening date.
Mi Hacienda serves mainly Mexican food, along with burgers and kids’ food. The menu is similar to Mi Ranchito’s with some changes, and the family is considering nightly specials. The restaurant also features a full bar and a family dining section.
Macias translated Miguel’s thank-you message to the community.
“He wants to thank everyone who’s been supportive of us and we’re excited to see everyone in Green River,” Miguel said. “We are always ready to serve and treat you guys like you’re at home.”
Mi Hacienda is located at 95 E. Railroad Street in downtown Green River. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
