ROCK SPRINGS — The New Open Range Bar–formerly known as The Outlaw Saloon–recently underwent a complete renovation and is now open for business.
Located just off the main lobby of The Outlaw Inn at 1630 Elk Street in Rock Springs, the space in which the bar is located has a rather storied past as a popular gathering place for both locals and travelers since 1966.
The bar features seating for 66 with an additional 22 seats on the adjacent covered patio.
Top quality finishes in cabinetry, countertops, lighting, tables, and upholstered pieces are featured throughout the newly renovated space, which also includes give TV screens and a Russound Music Player with JBL speakers mounted throughout the bar and patio area.
There are also plenty of electrical outlets, placed every three feet for the convenience of laptop users.

“When we first decided to renovate the space, one of the ideas of the architects and designers was to break down the rock wall between the old saloon and the patio area as well as the lobby wall to both bring light and additional seating to the main seating area. The idea took some time getting used to, but but now that the project is finished, it’s clear to me the architects and designers were exactly right in what they proposed,” said Mark Anselmi, owner and manager of The Outlaw.
He is very pleased with the work of JKattman Interiors in making the bar “a very attractive option for area bar-goers.”
The newly designed and decorated space offers residents of Sweetwater County, as well as travelers, an upscale option featuring mixed drinks, tap beer, as well as local, domestic, and international beer–plus a selection of U.S. and international wines.
A special menu is also available for those who wish to order food from The Open Range Kitchen.
The new bar is a design collaboration between Plan One Architecture of Rock Springs and JKattman Interiors of Golden, Colo.
Overseeing construction of the project was A Pleasant Construction of Green River.
