ROCK SPRINGS – With government agencies pushing for lifestyle changes that decrease chronic diseases, increase activity and promote healthier youth populations, it can be overwhelming to figure out the best way to get healthy.
Jordan McCoy, a nutrition and food safety educator with the University of Wyoming Extension, will take a look at fad diets during the next Bringing Nutrition to the Rock class at Rock Springs Library, 400 C Street in Rock Springs. The class is at 5:30 p.m. May 28. Registration is required – drop by the library or call 307-352-6667 to register.
McCoy said that it’s important to spot a fad diet before time, energy, money and mental health are wasted. She will teach those in attendance how to determine what is fact and fiction, and where to get sound information for healthy lifestyle changes to battle weight and chronic disease. McCoy will also offer fun recipes and quick tips for healthier lifestyles.
Bringing Nutrition to the Rock is a series of nutrition classes held monthly at Rock Springs Library. All classes are taught by experts from the University of Wyoming Extension office and Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.
