ROCK SPRINGS – New pet cleanup stations and signage have been put in place at the Wetland area as part of a new trial program.
Last month, the Rock Springs City Council approved a request from the Rock Springs Parks and Recreation Department that would allow dogs in the Wetland area near Smith’s. However, at Wetlands Park, dogs must remain on a leash at all times.
On Tuesday, Rock Springs City Councilman Tim Savage reported the new cleanup stations have been put in place and thanked the Parks Department and the Pet Committee for their work on the project. A collaboration between the two groups made the program possible.
With the cleanup stations in place, Savage reminded residents to clean up after their dogs if they want to be able to continue to take their dogs to the area in the future. After a year, the Rock Springs City Council will look at the program and decide if it will continue or not.
New rule signs have also been put up in the park. For more about the new on-leash option follow the link.
