GREEN RIVER — Green River High School’s Homecoming week is underway, and the students have been celebrating with activities all week.
The school and community gathered for the annual Homecoming parade Wednesday evening. The student-designed floats and other parade participants traveled down Hitching Post Drive.
The 2022 Homecoming royalty were presented during the parade, all riding in Jeeps. The Homecoming queen and king are Kenia Zarate and Jackson Mitchell. The rest of the court includes Alexa Alatorre, Kristinah Serrano, Vanessa Valerio, Charlotte Fowler, Abram Vergara, Jace Paoli, Kyler Bartlett, and Xander Lindsey.
Earlier this week, the students participated in a powderpuff football game, and hosted their annual bonfire and pep rally in the GRHS parking lot.
On Friday, the Lady Wolves volleyball team will host Jackson Hole at Lincoln Middle School. The game will start at 4 p.m. with the GRHS cheer team and marching band hyping up the crowd. The Wolves football team will then take the field at 6:30 p.m. where they will take on Powell. Homecoming royalty will be presented at the start of halftime.
Homecoming festivities will end Saturday night with the Homecoming Dance.
