ROCK SPRINGS – The community of Rock Springs and Sweetwater County is continually growing. There is an annual population increase of 3%, and the current median age of Rock Springs – 31.7 years – is getting younger. Reading further into the demographics of Rock Springs, more young entrepreneurs are researching ways in which to start-up their own business in this area.
The Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce is continually answering questions such as, “How do I start a business in Rock Springs?” Because of this, the Rock Springs Chamber knew that action had to be taken in order to guide all entrepreneurs in the right direction so that their vision of running a small business could become reality.
A partnership between the City of Rock Springs and the Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce brought to life a new program that is directed at supporting the needs of start-up businesses, as well as established businesses in Rock Springs. The program is the Business Development Program.
The Business Development Program has worked diligently for the past two months in order to provide a free online “Tool Kit” for entrepreneurs beginning the journey of opening a business. The “Tool Kit” has been placed on the Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce website, www.rockspringschamber.com, and has a wealth of information compiled into one area. Applications, forms, step-by-step guides on how to formulate and execute a business plan, as well as loan and funding options are just a few of the tools available on the “Tool Kit.” Whether an entrepreneur needs information on a partnership, a limited liability company, or even a corporation, the information can be found easily and in one area.
Prior to the Business Development Program, to gain access to all of the needed information, forms, and applications a large amount of time would have been spent searching through various organizations in order to locate the feasible information that would be needed to successfully start a business. Now, all of that specific information is available through one link on the Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce website.
The City of Rock Springs and the Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce are pleased to offer this to the citizens of Rock Springs, as well as those looking at moving into the area to bring additional resources to the community. Rock Springs continues to be a progressive and successful community, and as such, the importance of access to start- up business information enables continued progression.
The City of Rock Springs and the Chamber are dedicated to the community and the health of the local economy. Please contact the Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce with any questions.
