ROCK SPRINGS — Candidates for Sweetwater County School District No. 1 will discuss their stances during a forum at Western Wyoming College tonight.

The forum begins at 6 p.m. in Room 3650. The forum is hosted by the Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce and will be streamed by TRN Media on SweetwaterNOW’s Facebook page.

There are four positions available on the board, two of which are full four-year terms while the other two are for two-year unexpired terms. Five people seek election for the four-year positions: current board member Laurel Gandy, April Eccker, Leo Gray, former county commissioner candidate Walter Majko Jr., and Danella Devries. Six others seek election to the two-year terms: Anyssa Zancanella, Heather Hager, Meghan Jensen, Bernie Jensen, Kori Rossetti, and Layne Foxley.

A Wamsutter seat is also on the ballot, but no one has filed to seek election to that seat.

Early voting has started in Wyoming and can be done at the Sweetwater County Courthouse in Green River. The General Election takes place November 3.
