ROCK SPRINGS – After hosting a successful Wyoming State Hershey Track and Field Meet on June 21, the Rock Springs Parks and Recreation Department continues to received high praises.
Recently, the Rock Springs City Council recieved a lettetr from Carolyn Griffith, President of the Wyoming Recreation and Parks Association. In her letter she shared with the Rock Springs Council how impressed she was with the Rock Springs Parks and Recreation staff.
Griffith said she had recently attended the State Hershey Track and Field Meet in Rock Springs. The meet was for kids 9-years-old to 14-years-old who qualified for the event by placing first or second at meets which took place in their hometowns. The meet attracted approxiamtley 300 particpants.
“It was evident from the beginning that Recreation Center Superintendent JJ Syvrud dedicated time, effort and throught to organizing an event that would provide a great experience for everyone involved including participants, spectators, staff and volunteers,” Griffith wrote. “JJ’s attention to detail and leadership abilities are commendable. Rock Springs Receration staff and volunteers were extremely friendly and helpful. Hats off to a job well done.”
