Ronald Clarence McClimans, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County in Rock Springs.
He was born May 17, 1945, in Twin Falls, Idaho. Ronald lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to his family and community.
He married the love of his life Sherry Amis on November 20, 1964 in Tooele, Utah.
He dedicated 32 years of his professional life as a Diesel Mechanic at Bridger Coal, retiring in 2007, later lending his expertise for another 6 years at John Bunning Transfer. His service to his country in the National Guard exemplified his commitment to those around him.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ronald found joy in his faith and community. His passions included working on cars, fishing, hunting, and making lasting memories with his family.
Ronald is survived by his beloved wife and lifelong partner, Sherry McClimans of Rock Springs, Wyoming, who was his steadfast partner through all of life’s journeys. Together they built a loving family that includes their children, son Todd McClimans and daughters Nikki Hawks and Fiance Todd Zwickle; Amy McClimans, all of Rock Springs. Ronald was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Jeffrey, Jesse, Kaitlyn, Jordan, Talen, and Jonathan, and a cherished great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren. His warm presence will be missed by his brother, Richard McClimans of Stockton, Utah, and his sister, Joan Sisneros and her husband Richard of Saint George, Utah, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His loyal furry companion, Molly, will undoubtedly feel his absence.
Ronald was preceded in death by his caring parents, Wayne and Betty McClimans, his daughter Michelle Stroud, his brother Roy McClimans, and sisters Margaret Grey and Betty Lineman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2026 at the White Mountain Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3315 White Mountain Boulevard, Rock Springs, Wyoming. His family invites all who knew him to celebrate his life and legacy. Graveside Services and Interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call the church one hour prior to services.
