SWEETWATER COUNTY — Snow is anticipated to start falling late this afternoon in Sweetwater County, according to the United States National Weather Service (NWS).
A Special Weather Statement from the NWS is forecasting that a light snow will return to Sweetwater, southern Sublette and southern Lincoln counties sometime after 4 pm today.
Currently, 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected to fall in Sweetwater County. However, some areas may experience 3 inches.
The NWS is predicting the snow will fall through Tuesday morning on December 29. The heaviest snow accumulations will take place tonight.
Roads, including Interstate 80, will be slick and snow covered at most locations. Visibility may also be reduced.
Today will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 23. A light east northeast wind will increase to 8 to 13 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. For a complete forecast click here.
