SWEETWATER COUNTY — With temperatures predicted to reach the mid 90s this week, the United States National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a special Weather Statement for Sweetwater County.
According the NWS Riverton Office, Sweetwater County will see highs between 88 and 95 degrees today and tomorrow. The mountain areas will see temperatures in the 70s and 80s.
“Tuesday will be a tad warmer than today,” NWS stated.
High temperatures increase the potential for “heat-related illnesses,” particularly those working or participating in outdoor activities.
The NWS is encouraging residents to drink plenty of water, wear lightweight, light-colored clothing, and limit outdoor activity in the afternoon and evening.
