SWEETWATER COUNTY — The United States National Weather Service (NWS) Riverton Office has issued a special weather statement for Sweetwater County effective immediately through 11 tonight, October 12.
According to the NWS statement, “falling snow combined with gusty winds will create potentially hazardous travel this evening,” in Rock Springs, Green River, and along the Interstate 80 corridor.
“Hazardous travel is possible along Interstate 80 and in the Rock Springs area through this evening. “Use caution in traveling. Roads may be slushy and slick and visibility will be reduced due to the gusty winds and falling and blowing snow,” according to the statement.
