SWEETWATER COUNTY – The Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office was recently recognized for its support of agency employees serving in the Guard and Reserve.
In a ceremony at the County Commission chambers on August 12, Jesse Johnson, a volunteer for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, or ESGR, presented Sheriff Mike Lowell with the ESGR’s Above and Beyond Award, a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve, and a certificate recognizing the status of the Sheriff’s Office as a semifinalist for the ESGR’s 2016 Employer Support Freedom Award.

A U.S. Department of Defense program headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, the ESGR was created in 1972. Its mission is to promote understanding and cooperation between Reserve Component Service members and their employers and to aid in resolving conflicts that arise from employees’ military commitments.
