Task Force Focused on Larger Criminal Organizations Continues to be Effective

CHEYENNE – A task force created to focus on the larger criminal organizations continues to see success as two more people were sentenced in different investigations.

Amber Ruth Osborne, 25, of Gillette, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl on August 13, 2015, for conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. Osborne was arrested in Gillette.

She received 120 months imprisonment, to be followed by five years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $250 fine and a $100 special assessment.

Travis Getman, 48, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on August 11, 2015, for conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. Getman was arrested in Colorado Springs.

He received 97 months imprisonment, to be followed by four years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $150 fine and a $100 special assessment.

These case results are from an ongoing Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) joint investigation conducted by the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The principal mission of the OCDETF program is to identify, disrupt and dismantle the most serious drug trafficking, weapons trafficking and money laundering organizations, and those primarily responsible for the nation’s illegal drug supply.
