CHEYENNE – Two more men, with ties to Gillette, will be spending time behind bars after being sentenced in federal court on methamphetamine charges.
Noah Vonwerner, 28, of Gillette, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl on November 3, 2015, for conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. Vonwerner was arrested in Gillette.
He received 180 months imprisonment, to be followed by five years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment fee.
Christopher Phillips, 32, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl on November 4, 2015, for conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. Phillips was also arrested in Gillette.
He received 121 months imprisonment, to be followed by five years of supervised release. Â Phillips was also ordered to pay a $400 fine and a $100 special assessment.
These case results from an ongoing Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) joint investigation conducted by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
The principal mission of the OCDETF program is to identify, disrupt and dismantle the most serious drug trafficking, weapons trafficking and money laundering organizations, and those primarily responsible for the nation’s illegal drug supply. There have been several resent sentencing involving cases around the Gillette area.

Armando Lopez-Ruiz aka Alejandro Garcia-Ramos, Alejandro Garcia-Ralu, 33, of Mexico, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson November 2, 2015, for illegal reentry of a previously deported alien into the United States. Lopez-Ruiz was arrested in Jackson. He received time served, plus ten days, was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment, and is subject to deportation upon release from custody. This case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
