ROCK SPRINGS – In one split second the silence is shattered by a thunder of hooves crashing on the ground. Excitement hits a peak as they make that final turn and fly down the home stretch. It may only last a few minutes, but in horse racing it’s the most exciting few minutes a person can experience.
Don’t miss the final live horse racing event on the summer as horse owners, trainers, jockeys and of course, the horses, will meet at the Sweetwater County Events Complex to battle for the top honors. Sweetwater Downs Horse Racing will be bringing pari-mutuel horse races to the Sweetwater Events Complex August 30 and 31.
The races will bring horses from all over the western United States (California, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, etc.) The first post time at 12:30 p.m. “Horses are such a huge part of our “Western Heritage” and they are an icon for the state of Wyoming. The horses are beautiful. This is truly an event for the entire family. Nothing is better than watching 10 horses lined up and coming down the track at 45 mph,” explained Eugene Joyce, Sweetwater Downs General Manager.
Admission to live racing is $5 and includes a program and parking.
