ROCK SPRINGS — The Woman’s Club of Rock Springs member of GFWC recently gave eight Western Wyoming Community College students $300 grants to help pay for college books.

Twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall, the Woman’s Club gives book grants to students taking 12 or more hours at Western.

The amount of these grants may vary depending on the amount available. This fall, the Woman’s Club was able to give $300 each to eight students.

This money is mainly raised through the club’s annual Holiday House that happens the first Friday and Saturday of December. The club is currently looking for a home for this year’s Holiday House. If there is someone interested, they may contact the club at [email protected].

The club also raised funding through a large yard sale, a booth at International Day, and at community day at the mall. The also sell crafts, baked goods, and have raffles to raise money. This past year due to COVID-19 the club was unable to have the Holiday House in a home so they tried a virtual one. Anyone interested in more information about the grants, can visit the club’s website.
