LANDER — The Green River Wolves saw great success at the 3A state golf championships over the weekend in Lander.
Isabell Salas led the way for the team, coming in second place. She hit a 79 on day one and an 86 on day two, finishing with a 165. Teammates Kaelea Gibson and Luci Adams saw top 10 finishes as well. Gibson came in seventh with a 192, while Adams tied for ninth with Lovell’s Chevelle Jolley who scored a 201. Shania Flores and Lili Adams also competed at the championships, finishing on the back half of the scoreboard.
The Lady Wolves put their best foot forward in the girls’ division, taking second as a team with a score of 558, just two strokes outside of Wheatland’s first-place score of 556.
On the boys’ side, Ryker Mele finished in 20th, hitting an 89 on day one and a 90 on day two for a total of 179. Hunter Lake, Kaleb Gunter, Zayn Draney and Braycer Riley helped the Wolves earn 11th place as a team with a score of 778.
