WYDOT gives drivers update on I-25 construction around Casper

CAPER – The Wyoming Department of Transportation updated travelers on Thursday about current construction around Casper including work on Interstate 25.

Now that traffic on Interstate 25 in Casper has been switched to the northbound lanes from just north of the Wardwell interchange through to Poplar Street, work has begun on the resurfacing of the southbound lanes within that stretch.

Officials specifically pointed out speeds are being reduced to 45 mph through the work zone. Bridge work within the work zone (over the Shoshoni Bypass interchange) is set to begin May 4.

“We continue to monitor traffic at the Wardwell interchange. During peak times (morning and 5 p.m. rush) there are delays at the interchange. There will also be vehicles lined up on the northbound offramp waiting to turn,” WYDOT officials said. “Please pay attention for slow moving or stopped vehicles when exiting at Wardwell.”
