Wyoming Highway Patrol to Suspend VIN Inspections

The Wyoming Highway Patrol will be suspending VIN inspections for safety measures.

CHEYENNE — Due to safety measures when dealing with the COVID-19 environment, the Wyoming Highway Patrol will be suspending services for Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) inspections.

Most county clerks and treasurer’s through-out Wyoming have stopped issuing titles and registrations due to their offices being closed to the public.

VIN inspections are a low priority and are not a highway safety concern.  As such, the WHP is suspending the service of doing VIN inspections for 30 days and will reevaluate at that time when we return to providing this service.
