Do the zombie stomp as the second Family Fun Run will take place this Monday at RSHS

ROCK SPRINGS – On Monday, Rock Springs High School will be overrun by zombies as the second 5K Family Fun Run of the summer will take place.

This Monday, the Rock Springs Parks and Recreation Department will be giving residents a chance to enjoy some fresh air, spend time with family and friends while getting in a little exercise as well. The 5K will be at Rock Springs High School from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Each run has a theme and this Monday’s run is a zombie-themed event.

Whether you’re a beginner or competitive runner, the Rock Springs Recreation Department is again providing fun, low-key run/walk that’s safe and social.  The run is typically no more than 50 minutes, although 50 is not a magic number.  The department said they try to have runs go “out and back” so that everyone can start and finish together and run at their own pace with others of similar ability.

New runners may only want to run a mile or two; experienced athletes might do a tempo run.  This is geared towards families and people of all ages.  Walking is also encouraged.  There is no fee to participate.

An adult must be present for children 12 and under.

Future runs include:

July 7, Northpark Elementary, Patriotic Run

July 21, Century West Park, Suds, Slip and Slide run

Aug. 4, Pilot Butte Middle School, Color Run

Aug. 18, Central Administration Building, Glow Stick Run
