Amie Joy Dowdall (August 19, 1974 - September 1, 2026).

Amie Joy Dowdall passed away on September 1, 2026 at the age of 52, at home with family after a short, but courageous battle of a grade 4 glioblastoma.

To know Amie was to know an unwavering love, a witty sense of humor, and the kind of presence that made you feel at home.

Amie was born in Cheyenne on August 19, 1974. She grew up in Rock Springs and also spent a few years in Guam. She attended Rock Springs High School and later received her GED from Western Wyoming Community College.

In February of 1991, she gave birth to the light of her life, Kiarra Zampedri. Amie never let being a teen mom get in the way or be a set back. If anything it pushed her to do and be so much more than she ever imagined.

On October 21, 2011 she married the love her life, Michael Dowdall. The two of them built a life that was really something to be proud of. They worked hard and played harder, traveling as often as they could.

Amie made a career and name for herself as a field office manager in the natural gas piplining industry. She truly enjoyed her job and the opportunities it provided her, especially the friends that she was able to make all over the country.

Amie enjoyed traveling to new places especially if they were tropical, antique malls and old architecture. Above all she loved spending time with her family, specifically being a Grammy. She was the best Grammy there ever was, from shopping, to baking, to playing games and snuggling, she did it all and wanted to be apart of everything she could.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Dowdall; daughter, Kiarra Zampedri and husband Kyle; grandaughters, Rori, Roxi and Remi Zampedri; parents, Ray and Traci Varner and Holly Burke and husband Darrel; grandmothers, Joanne Varner and Linda Durrant; brothers, Bryan Varner and wife Matia, Jamie Varner and wife Tara and Nick Varner and wife Kendra; mother-in-law Janyce Lebaron; brother-in-law, David Dowdall. She is survived by many other family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, including Zach Burke and wife Sierra, Casen and Nixon Burke.

She was preceded in death by paternal and maternal grandfathers and her loving furry friends, Bruno and Harper.

Although we would give anything to have one more conversation, one more laugh and one more hug, we will forever be grateful for her short but impactful time here with us. Amieโ€™s legacy will live on through those she loved the most. She was loved deeply, and that love caries on long after goodbye.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be conducted on October 11, 2026 at Santa Fe Southwest Grill in Rock Springs at 11 a.m. The family invites all family and friends to come and celebrate the life of Amie Dowdall.
