GREEN RIVER — The Green River Police Department recently had Boy Scout Pack 77 visit the police department for a tour and to learn about the every day jobs of Green River’s local law enforcement officers.

They kicked off the visit with a meeting with Chief Tom Jarvie in which they took an oath to always be nice to others and respect authority. Chief Jarvie presented them all with a Jr. Officer badge for them to wear after completing their oaths.

The boy scouts then visited the evidence collection rooms and learned about how officers collect evidence.

Next, it was off to the shooting range where they got to see where the officers train with firearms. Then, Officer Green showed the kids all about fingerprints and each scout got to collect their own fingerprint.

After getting their fingerprints, Corporal Bach showed the kids his patrol vehicle and all the cool stuff inside. The scouts got to hear the siren and horn, then got to try it out for themselves.
