Be among the first to see the Community Fine Arts Center’s newest sculpture unveiled at a FREE reception on Saturday.

The Community Fine Arts Center will add a new, Wyoming-themed sculpture to its collection in celebration of the center’s 50th anniversary. The sculpture was designed and created by local artist Jennifer Messer, who described it as welded layers of steel with the images of local landscapes and wildlife. Come celebrate your love of art and Wyoming at the unveiling reception.

Musician Information

• Cliff Wittstruck: Cliff Wittstruck earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music in Professional Music, Master of Music; Jazz Studies from the New England Conservatory of Music; and Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Argosy University. Cliff taught at Berklee College of Music in Boston Massachusetts for nine years and served various roles at the McNally Smith College of Music. He is currently the Dean of Academics at Western Wyoming Community College. Cliff has played over 4,000 professional gigs around the world with numerous musical ensembles. Several recording projects feature his music, including ads for Best Buy, Callaway Golf Clubs, and Schuler Shoes. He has also recorded CDs with gospel artist Robbie Robinson and Jazz artist Judi Donaghy. While Cliff was a member of Inside Straight, the band was the opening act for James Brown, Sam Dave, Junior Walker and the All-Stars, and several other prominent R&B acts.

• Rock Springs High School Jazz Combo: Under the direction of Brian Redmond.

• Sweetwater BOCES Strings: The Strings Ensemble group, sponsored by Sweetwater BOCES, include members Allison Folks, Corinne Folks, Samuel Wilson, Lila May, Sarah Wessel, and Marcia Petersen.  These dedicated musicians meet weekly for lessons and have a fantastic time learning to love music!  They are very excited anytime they are asked to perform around Rock Springs and feel it is a privilege to share the gift of music with their community.

• Ann Marie Mattila and Svetlana Martin: Ann Maria Mattila Is a native of Rock Springs and a graduate of the University of Utah.  She is a singer, and plays several instruments, usually in the community orchestra and the Western Wyoming community College symphonic band.  Mattila also is involved in Actors’ Mission, is a creative writer, and “dabbles” in photography and pastels.  She will be accompanied on the piano by Svetlana Martin. Martin and her husband moved to Wyoming just over a year ago and plays piano for the dance and vocal students at Western Wyoming Community College. Martin also teaches private piano lessons. In her home country of Russia, she was the director of an art and music school in Raduzhny, Serbia.

• Chuck Dittman and Steven Davis: Sweetwater County musicians Chuck Dittman and Steve Davis form an acoustic guitar duo. Drawing from a variety of influences, including blues, jazz, folk and pop, the duo melded their original compositions to create a textured musical experience. While playing structured songs and indulging in improvisation, each show is a unique performance.
