County Board of Health Seeks Roughly $565,000 Budget Amendment

GREEN RIVER — The Sweetwater County Commission is scheduled to host two public hearing at its Tuesday meeting for the purpose of amending the County District Board of Health budget by about $565,000 and the Risk Management Department’s budget by roughly $87,000.

The Commission will meet at its regularly-scheduled meeting Tuesday starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Sweetwater County Courthouse.

The Commission is scheduled to host a public hearing to listen to any comments in regards to a County District Board of Health budget amendment. According to documents in the Commission packet, if approved, the Sweetwater County 2020-2021 budget for the County District Board of Health will be amended by $564,862 from $1,804,507 to $2,369,369.

The Commission will also host a public hearing to allow for comments on a budget amendment for the Risk Management Department’s budget. According to a notice in the Commissioners packet, the county would like to amend the Risk Management Department budget within the Sweetwater County 2020-2021 budget in the amount of $87,018.77 due to unanticipated capital expenditures within the department.

After the public hearings, the Commission will decided whether or not to approve the budget amendment requests.

Other Business

Under action and presentation items, Sweetwater County Treasurer Robb Slaughter is set to speak to the commissioners about investment parameters. The agenda also states Slaughter will also make an announcement, but it doesn’t elaborate on what the announcement is.

The Commission will also hear a presentation from the Veteran’s Service Office and decide who to appoint to the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County Board.
