TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF…

I started working in the Treasurer’s Office in 1991 issuing license plates, over time was promoted to the Tax Deputy position and then to Office Manager.

I left in 2012 to become the Chief Deputy for newly appointed Assessor, Pat Drinkle. In February of 2018 I was then selected by the Sweetwater County Commission to fill out the remainder of Pat’s term when she retired.

I am a very long-term county employee with a tremendous amount of experience in the taxation and assessment fields.

WHAT MAKES YOU THE BEST CHOICE FOR ASSESSOR?

I think my experience at the county, specifically the last 6 years in the Assessor’s Office, makes me the best choice.

I earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wyoming, but my recent education has been in the assessment field. I have taken almost 400 hours of continuing education in varied assessment practices.

I am  also a permanently certified property tax appraiser recognized by the Wyoming Department of Revenue.  I have what every employer is looking for in an applicant, education and experience.  I believe that makes me the best choice for Assessor.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH IN YOUR FIRST YEAR IF YOU’RE RE-ELECTED?

My first year back in office, I will continue my goal of having my entire staff permanently certified.  We have a couple of new hires that are beginning that process and I hope to be very close to my certification goals by the end of next year.

We will continue to meet all of our statutorily mandated requirements for both the Department of Revenue and the State Board of Equalization.  We will continue to treat the taxpayers of Sweetwater County in a fair and equitable manner.
