FARSON — Farson-Eden came up short in both football and volleyball this weekend, as the Pronghorns fell to No. 2 Casper Christian in a conference matchup Friday before the Lady Pronghorns lost to Class 2A Saratoga on Saturday.

The Pronghorns fell 45-30 to Casper Christian on Friday in a Class 1A six-man South Conference game. Farson-Eden scored 30 points against the undefeated conference opponent but was unable to keep pace with Casper Christian, which entered the matchup ranked No. 2 in the classification.

Farson-Eden entered the game with a 2-3 overall record and a 1-2 mark in South Conference play following a 57-47 homecoming victory over Ten Sleep the previous week.

The Lady Pronghorns faced another challenge Saturday, traveling to take on Class 2A Saratoga in an interclass volleyball matchup. Saratoga earned a 3-0 victory, winning the sets 25-17, 25-11 and 27-25.

Farson-Eden showed its strongest resistance in the third set, pushing Saratoga to 27 points before the larger-class opponent closed out the match. The Lady Pronghorns had entered the weekend with a 9-7 overall record and a 3-1 mark in the 1A Southwest Conference after sweeping Arapaho Charter and St. Stephens during homecoming week.

Despite the two losses, Farson-Eden will look to build on its recent performances as both teams continue their seasons, with the football team coming off a 30-point effort against a highly ranked opponent and the volleyball team having demonstrated its ability to compete in a close final set against Saratoga.
