Flags to be Lowered Following the Death of Dolly Parton

ROCK SPRINGS — Following the death of country music star Dolly Parton, President Donald Trump announced the lowering of the flag to half staff for one week beginning Aug. 25 at 6 p.m.

Parton’s passing was announced by her nephew, Bryan Seaver, on Instagram on the morning of Aug. 25.

“It’s an honor, an honor that is mixed with absolute pride and great sadness. But sadness lies with us, not with Dolly. Dolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus, surely met by Carl, her parents and countless others who have watched her and longed to meet her in the heavens,” Seaver said.
