Four Injured in Oil Rig Explosion in North Dakota

NORTH DAKOTA – Two people with local ties were among four injured in an oil rig explosion near Watford City in North Dakota on  Saturday.

According to McKenzie County Emergency Manager Karolin Jappe, four people were injured in an explosion that happened about five miles west of Watford city around 8 a.m. Saturday morning. Jappe said the extent of the injuries are unknown at this time.

SweetwaterNOW has learned two of the injured have local ties. No names were officially released at this time.
