Fremont Therapy Group is proud to recognize Nick Hastert, PT, DPT, OCS, for earning the professional designation of Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS).
The OCS specialty is granted by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists (ABPTS), and is the highest level a Physical Therapist can reach in the orthopedic outpatient setting.
Achieving board certification with an orthopedic specialty places Nick in the top of his field when it comes to diagnosing and treating patients recovering from orthopedic injuries. The OCS Board requires more than 2,000 hours of related clinical practice and involves a rigorous examination process. Roughly 4% of physical therapists in the US are Orthopedic Clinical Specialists.
On behalf of the Fremont Therapy and Rocky Mountain team, we extend our sincere congratulations to Nick… we’re proud of the hard work he has put into becoming a board certified specialist and appreciate the passion for his profession that this hard work reflects. We look forward to seeing our patients benefit from his expertise!
Kris Nelson, PT, MPT, CHT, Clinic Director and Partner
Studies show that therapists with the advanced clinical knowledge and skill set that comes with a Board Certification, are able to achieve better outcomes for patients in their specialty. The OCS certification focuses on evidence-based practice, orthopedic injury examination, treatment, and medical interventions. Industry involvement at this level means that Nick stays up to date with cutting edge research and technology: including having advanced training in dry needling, spinal manipulation and functional capacity evaluations.
Patients who choose Fremont Therapy Group or Rocky Mountain Sports are able to be seen by professionals who are constantly adding advanced training and specialty certifications to help patients heal better and faster. Nick’s passion is learning new ways to diagnose and treat whatever ails his patients. Nick’s education doesn’t stop with just him; he is passionate about passing on what he knows to his patients– giving them knowledge for a lifetime of physical health.
