ROCK SPRINGS – Several items will be up for approval at the Rock Springs City Council meeting on Tuesday. One of these items is to apply for a county wide consensus block grant for projects throughout the county.

Currently under the Chapter 32 consensus block grant, Sweetwater County has $4,606,214 available. Capital improvement projects must be certified on a consensus list by the Sweetwater County Commissioners and the governing bodies of the cities and towns within that county that comprise at least 70 percent of the incorporated population.

Under the grant, capital project means the construction, replacement or improvement of a fixed asset or public service facility.
