GREEN RIVER – The Green River Recreation Center’s Annual Shutdown will take place August 24th through September 7th. Updates will be made during this time. In addition to the below listed items in maintenance the staff will be performing a deep cleaning of the facility.
Shutdown Events:
• The Gymnasium and Racquetball Courts 2 and 3 will be closed from Monday, August 24th through Monday, September 7th. The floors are being screened to take away damage from hard usage; two coats of finish will be applied to the floors, and finally set to dry. The Gymnasium and Racquetball Courts will open back up Tuesday, September 8th.
• The Multi-Purpose Room (meeting room on top level of the Green River Recreation Center) will be closed Tuesday, August 25th after 5pm through Wednesday, September 2nd. The floor is in need of refinishing as several spots have been worn down to the wood. The Multi-Purpose Room will open back up Thursday, September 3rd with a few limitations.
• The Swimming Pool will be closed Monday, August 31st through Monday, September 7th. The pool is being drained partially so new rails may be placed in the shallow end entrance. The current transferable ladder will be removed as it was damaging the stainless steel. During this time the stainless steel will be cleaned thoroughly and a steel coating will be put on it to prevent further damage. The Swimming Pool will open back up Tuesday, September 8th.
• The Wet Room Area (Steam Room, Sauna, and Hot Tub) will be closed Tuesday, September 1st through Wednesday, September 2nd. There are a few preventative maintenance items that we would like to take care of during this time frame to avoid future closures. The Wet Room Area will open back up Thursday, September 3rd.

• Cardio Hallway
• Weight Room
• Locker Rooms/Restrooms
• Nursery
• Ping Pong and Pool Table
• Racquetball Courts 1 and 4
• Downstairs Meeting Room
As many parts of the Green River Recreation Center will remain open and available to the public, there will not be extensions on memberships or discounts on fees. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. These scheduled maintenance activities are essential and necessary to maintain a quality, clean and safe facility for our patrons every other week of the year. Thank you for your loyal patronage.
