Tell us a little about yourself.

I am a Rock Springs native from a family who has made their home in Rock Springs for the past six generations.  I am an underground miner at Solvay Chemicals and have worked there for the past 14 years. I am the Co-Captain and Benchman for the Solvay Silver Mine Rescue team.  In addition I am a co-owner of Square State Brewing Company located in downtown Rock Springs.

I have three children ranging in age from 14-7, all who take part in many activities made possible by living in a town like ours.

I have been an active member of our community by coaching little league sports, both football and baseball.  My experiences in business, personal and family life have helped me develop the skills, ingenuity, resilience and passion for the things I care about to help deal with the challenges and opportunities our city will face in the future.

What do you see as the most important issues in your candidacy and how will you address them?

Residents of Ward 3 should vote for me because my concerns rest within the community we live in.  I will work diligently to find other sources of revenue in an effort to make up for the loss of mineral taxes, without unduly increasing the tax burden of the citizens of Rock Springs. I will work with the mayor to lobby with Legislators in Cheyenne, to make sure funding available comes into the city.

I want to see the city of Rock Springs diversify its economy. The current trend of boom and bust is not good for our economy, citizens, or Rock Springs as a whole.  I would like to see additional businesses open in Rock Springs, whether it be a small local businesses or a larger-scale chain restaurants. Business means local jobs and revenue in our community.

I believe the city and county should use local  contractors and resources for their current and future projects, such as the newly renovated First Bank Building in Downtown. 

I would like to see our Downtown URA become more self sustaining, like the LEADs program in Cheyenne.  They are able to buy properties and renovate them all with their own funding.  In doing this they have been able to move more businesses into their local Downtown area, raising revenue for the city.
