Nancy Leah (Bailey) Tynsky passed away August 27, 2026 at the age of 78. She began her life as Nancy Leah Pickell on June 26, 1948 in Rock Springs as the youngest of 7.
Growing up, Nancy attended school in Rock Springs, Farson, Kemmerer and Pinedale (where she graduated High School). She also took courses at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs.
Nancy worked at the BLM for a brief period. For a large portion of her life, she worked at the Circle S Ranch, which at one time had been owned by her grandparents, William and Florence Showers, doing everything from cabin girl, bookkeeper, hay-hand, cook and finally managing the ranch (where she did it all).
Nancy married the love of her life, Larry Alan Tynsky, December 21, 1991. This date was chosen as it was the longest night of the year, so they told everyone. They spent 27 happy years together until his death in 2018.
Nancy is survived by: her daughters, Lisa Dice and husband Dan (Iowa); Tammy Rasmussen and husband Brent (Pinedale); step-children, Troy Tynsky and wife Desiree (Arizona); Trent Tynsky and wife Melissa (Utah); Lyndsey Dorman and husband Daniel (Rock Springs) and many, many beloved grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Larry Tynsky; her parents John Claire (JC) and Marjory Pickell, her siblings: Marie, Jack, Elsie, Joe, Sally and Robert, and step-son Kyle Tynsky.
The family respectfully requests donations be made in Nancy’s memory to Hospice of Sweetwater County, 333 Broadway Street, Suite 220, Rock Springs, Wyoming 82901 or Red Desert Humane Society, 310 Yellowstone Road, Rock Springs, Wyoming 82901.
Cremation will take place; a Celebration of Life will be conducted at 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 3833 Sandhill Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Those who remembered Nancy knew her for her strong will, independence, work ethic and loving devotion to her family and doggy companions through-out her life. Nancy was always kind, strong yet quiet, and quick to share a smile 🙂
