ROCK SPRINGS — Rock Springs High School (RSHS) senior Jordyn Petty signed her national letter of intent to join the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) Maverick dance team.

Petty, joined by her family, celebrated her decision on Monday afternoon as she inked the paperwork to make her choice official.

Petty first began dancing at the age of two and hasn’t stopped since. She has been a part of a successful RSHS dance team and looks to continue that success at UNO.

When it came down to choosing a college that fit her best, UNO was the one that made the most sense for her goals. The Maverick dance team won the national title this year and after talking with UNO’s head coach, she knew it was where she wanted to go.

While at RSHS, Petty says her favorite memory from being on the dance team was going to all the football games. She said her brother used to play football and supporting him on the field will always hold a special place in her heart.

Petty said she plans to study biology and become and anesthesiologist.
