SWEETWATER COUNTY — A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Sweetwater County starting tomorrow, according to the United States National Weather Service (NWS).
“A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior,” the warning states.
The NWS issued the warning for Thursday, September 8, which is in effect from noon until 8 p.m. Counties under the warning include Sweetwater, Uinta, Lincoln and Sublette.
Westerly winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected with gusts up to 40 mph. Temperatures will be in the mid 80s. For the complete forecast, click here.
