ROCK SPRINGS — Richard Allen Olson, 69, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away Monday, September 1, 2015. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Mr. Olson passed away suddenly.
He was born on July 20, 1946 in Conrad, Montana, the son of Elmer A. Olson and Marguerite P. Hansen Olson.
Mr. Olson attended Kelso High School in Washington.
He married Linda A. Rickard in Everett, Washington in 1978.
Mr. Olson served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict.
He worked as a machinist for Kauppi Wireline.
His interests included hunting, fishing, the outdoors, four-wheeling, bird hunting and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include wife Linda of Rock Springs; five sons Kenneth Allen Olson of Satsop, Washington, Richard Anthony Olson of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Timothy Elmer Olson of O’Fallon, Missouri, Stephen Randall Olson of Casper, Wyoming and Ryan Ronald Olson of Rock Springs, Wyoming; one sister Dru Pierce of Longview, Washington; four grandchildren Courtney Lynn, Monica Leeann, Ashton Ryan and Christian William; two nephews Terry and Michael and several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will conducted at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the American Legion Archie Hay, Post #24, 551 Broadway in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
