RSHS Competes at State Track and Field

CASPER — Despite the winter conditions at this year’s state track and field championships, the athletes from Rock Springs High School (RSHS) track and field team embraced the cold and competed for a state title in Casper.

The boys team finished ninth overall with 34 team points while the girls team took 14th finishing with two team points.

Among the best finishers for the Lady Tigers were Ava Andrews who took 11th in pole vault and Presley Nacey took 12th in the 300 meter hurdles. The Lady Tigers relay teams also finished eighth in both the 1600 sprint medley and 4×100 meter relay.

On the boys side, Andrew Skorcz took second in the 200 meter dash and fourth in the 400 meter dash. Charles Fossey took sixth in the 1600 meter run.

The Tigers relay team took fourth in the 1600 sprint medley.

In field events, RSHS posted strong performances from Porter Chubb who took third in the high jump. Colton Carlsen finished third in discus and sixth in shot put.
