WYOMING – Officials of Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge have closed portions of the east refuge road off Hwy 28 after runoff from the recent storms washed out the county road.

Officials said the recent rainfall has resulted in runoff that has overtopped the refuge road on the east side of the river, north of Highway 28, and the county road leading into the Big Island Bridge on the west side of the river.

“We have closed a short stretch of the east refuge road just north of Hwy 28 until repairs can be made. If you are traveling on Seedskadee NWR in the next week, use caution as there could be other unmaintained roads needing repairs. The entrance road and the auto tour route near Headquarters are still in good shape.”
