ROCK SPRINGS – After approving an early notice incentive to certified staff and administrators, The Sweetwater County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees will vote on those who notified the district they will be leaving at the end of the school year.

In February, the board approved a $500 incentive to the first 30 certified staff and administrators who voluntarily informed the district they did not plan to return for the 2015-2016 school year. Those interested had to have written notice turned in to the Human Resource Office by March 2.

Administration said the one time $500 incentive is intended to assist them in managing the hiring process. They explained it will benefit the students by allowing the district to fill vacant position at the earliest possible time and will help attract the most highly qualified candidates.
