ROCK SPRINGS – With a new elementary school coming online, Sweetwater County School District No. 1 officials have been working on new boundaries for the elementary schools. On Monday, the SWCSD No. 1 Board will debate and take action on the proposed boundaries for the 2015-2016 school year.
The district has been working on the boundaries for sometime and have had two public input meetings on the issue. Before the board meeting on Monday, the boundaries will be discussed in a board workshop at 6 p.m.
In the board information, the administration said there are several things considered when forming boundaries. The new school boundaries are constructed to reduce the transportation times required to get students to and from school, allow for neighborhood schools and embrace the cultural diversity that is Rock Springs’ heritage.
