
ROCK SPRINGS – Several employees in Sweetwater County School District No. 1 were honored Monday night for their quick actions and service to the district
Lincoln Elementary employees. Kendra Peltier, Jordan Erspamer, Tasha Sparks, Rebecca Nandrup and Nicole Bolton were honored Monday for their actions in an emergency situation at the school in October.
Human Resource Director Megan Mentzel said three staff were first to respond to the emergency situation. She said while the three attended to the emergency, other employees distracted student’s attention away from the situation.
Metzel could not go into detail about the situation because of student confidentiality, but said they were calm, kept control of the classroom, got the proper help and removed the students from the room.
Principal Bolton received a special recognition for her leadership during the event.
Wendy Bider

Rock Springs High School employee Wendy Bider was honored on Monday night for saving the life of a child.
Metzel said after a basketball game this past springs, a small child started choking in the parking lot.
Bider performed the Heimlich Maneuver on the child allowing to young one to get air after going without for some time. Metzel said hospital staff said it was because of Bider’s action the child is alive today.
25-Year Employees

The SWCSD No. 1 Board honored employees were honored for 25 years of service in the district.
