ROCK SPRINGS – With Randal Wendling announcing he will resign his position on Sweetwater County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees, the board will start looking for a replacement.
There is a SWCSD No. 1 policy as well as a Wyoming State Statute which explains the process the district will use to fill the board. School District Attorney George Lemich spoke to Sweetwater NOW about the process.
He said soon the board will publish a notification of the board vacancy and will start accepting applications from interested residents who live within SWSCD No. 1 boundaries.
After the application process is complete, the board will then look at the applications, conduct interviews and ultimately decide who will fill the vacancy.
While Wendling’s term was a four-year term, Lemich pointed out that whoever is chosen by the board will be up for re-election in 2016 and not 2018.
