The Sweetwater County Child Developmental Center made an announcement on its Facebook page this morning that it will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.
The SCCDC attached a letter to its Facebook post, dated April 16, 2020.
The letter states, “In order to ensure the safety and well-being of all of our students, families, community and staff the SCCDC administration has made the hard decision to remain closed through the end of the 2019-2020 school year.”
Teachers and therapists will continue to provide services to students through videos and digital resources until May 22, 2020.
“We are also making plans for a virtual preschool graduation/celebration for the kids heading off to kindergarten,” the letter states.
Parents who already paid for the entire year or semester of school will be refunded their April tuition by April 30 and their May tuition by May 31.
“We have no further information, at this time, on June daycare or Extended School Year classes,” the letter states.
Preschool registration will continue to take place online and daycare registration will be coming soon. For now, the 2020-2021 school year open house is still scheduled to take place Aug. 18.
