William “Bill” Raddon, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, in Riverton, Utah, surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born on December 4, 1942, in Murray, Utah, to Dean and Florence Raddon. He was raised in Murray and spent many cherished summers in Silver Fork, nestled in Big Cottonwood Canyon, where he developed a lifelong love of the outdoors.
In 1977, Bill moved to Wyoming and later married Valgean Jones in 1982. Together they raised five children, and over the years their family grew to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who became one of his greatest joys.
Throughout his career, Bill worked in automobile sales and moving and setting up mobile homes before concluding his working years as a maintenance technician at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, where he faithfully served for more than 20 years. He was known for his strong work ethic, willingness to help others, and ability to brighten someone’s day with a smile, kind word, or joke.
Bill enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved horseback riding, camping, fishing, hunting, and taking drives to places rich in history. He had a lifelong fascination with the Old West and enjoyed sharing stories with family and friends. He was an avid reader, had a deep love for animals, and especially enjoyed bringing his family together by barbecuing and smoking meats for family gatherings.
Above all, Bill loved God and cherished his personal relationship with Him. His faith was a source of strength throughout his life.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Florence Raddon; his beloved wife, Valgean Raddon; his grandson, David Southerland; and many cherished family members and friends.
He is survived by his brother, Paul (Dorie) Raddon; his children, Jeff (Paula) Swenson, Laura (Edward) McKee, Margaret Murphy, Lee (Tammy) Swenson, and Kristine (Thomas) Quinn; his grandchildren Natasha (DJ) Ackerman, Nicholas (Amanda) White, Caitlin (Claiten) Gusler, Caden Murphy, Greg McKee, Eric (Kristine) McKee, Brendan Quinn, Kristofer (Ashley) Quinn, Kiarra Quinn, Dezi Saathoff, Jeremy Swenson, Skyler Reece, Russel Reece, Desiree Walter, and Madison Swenson; 23 great-grandchildren; his mother in-law, Evelyn Jones; his nephews, Michael Raddon and Matt Raddon (Jamie Douglas), great-nephew, Jim Raddon; his lifelong friends, Steve Stauffer and Kent Dansie, who he considered brothers; his honorary grandson, Cody Bouldin; his special extended family members, Pam Sipe, Christa Green, Chris and Amanda Coe, and Ivy Flores; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Bill will be remembered for his warm smile, generous heart, unwavering faith, wonderful sense of humor, and the love he shared with his family and friends. While he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is now with God—healthy, whole, and at peace.
Family and friends are invited to join us as we celebrate Bill’s life on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rock Springs Evangelical Church in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Following the service, everyone is welcome to stay for a luncheon and fellowship.
