ROCK SPRINGS – In the world of sports, making it to the college level is a feat within itself. One Western Wyoming Community College Soccer player just added a new level of success.
Mustang goalie Mitch Jensen was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Goalie of the Week for Sept. 21-27. Jensen has been one of the leaders and has helped WWCC to an 8-2-3 overall record this season.
Just last week alone, Jensen had three shutouts. They included a 1-0 win at Western Nebraska, a 4-0 win against Sheridan and a 3-0 win against Northwest.
Jensen – from Kaysville, Utah – is a sophomore this season at Western. He played high school soccer at Davis High School and was a member of the Mustang squad in 2012. Jensen has 101 saves on the season while only allowing 15 goals. He currently has a save percentage of 87 percent and has five shutouts this season.
