CASPER – A public meeting on how U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds are used in Wyoming will take place 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Wyoming Business Council office located at 214 W. 15th St. in Cheyenne and at the Wyoming Community Development Authority office located at 155 N. Beech St. in Casper.
HUD requires an Annual Action Plan that delineates how funds will be spent in Wyoming. The state is preparing a draft action plan for 2016. Representatives from the Business Council, the Wyoming Community Development Authority, the Wyoming Department of Health and the Wyoming Department of Family Services will make presentations about each of the programs and funding opportunities along with an update on the 2016 Annual Action Plan.
The public is invited to provide feedback
The Annual Action Plan applies to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), Continuum of Care (CoC), Housing for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) programs.
The meeting will explain resources to address the needs identified in a greater consolidated plan; the method for and geographic distribution of funds; activities the state plans to undertake to address housing, homelessness and other special-needs activities and non-housing community and economic development activities, as well as other actions intended during the next year.
Public comments will be accepted for 30 days from the date of the hearing (through Jan. 2, 2016). The public is invited to attend the Dec. 1 meeting in person or via an online video conference through GoToMeeting.
