CHEYENNE — According to the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH), COVID-19 Coronavirus hospitalizations dropped to 75 patients today.
This is the lowest hospitalizations have been since October 20 when Wyoming had 70 hospitalizations, according to the WDH hospitalization report. This is the first time the state’s hospitalizations have fallen below 80 since October 20.
The state’s peak in COVID-19 hospitalizations was on November 30 with 247 hospitalizations. One month ago on December 22, the state had 147 patients.
As of today, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center has the most hospitalizations with 21 patients, followed by Wyoming Medical Center in Casper with 14 patients. St. John’s Medical Center in Jackson has nine COVID-19 hospitalizations, Campbell County Memorial Hospital has eight patients, and Sheridan Memorial Hospital has seven.

Twenty-eight coronavirus-related deaths were reported by the WDH on Tuesday, and twenty-one coronavirus-related deaths were confirmed by the WDH today, bringing the state’s total to 571 deaths.
Wyoming’s lab-confirmed active cases sits at 1,825, compared to Monday when Wyoming had 2,296 active cases.
Among Wyoming residents, there have been 43,151 lab-confirmed cases, 41,326 case recoveries, and there are currently 7,432 probable cases.
Governor Mark Gordon announced Thursday that current public health orders will be easing starting next Tuesday, January 26.
Beginning on January 26, indoor gatherings that incorporate social distancing and face coverings are permitted for up to 25 percent of capacity or 250 persons, and outdoor gatherings of up to 500 persons. These orders will be in effect through February 14.
Sweetwater County
The WDH reports that Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County currently has three COVID-19 hospitalizations.
Of the 49 deaths announced by the WDH this week, four were from Sweetwater County. Local public health officials have not released details on these deaths yet. This brings the County’s coronavirus-related death total to 30 deaths.
According to the WDH, Sweetwater County has had 3,251 lab-confirmed cases and 3,128 case recoveries since the start of the pandemic. Sweetwater County currently has 96 active cases and 133 probable cases.
Sublette County
The WDH reports one new COVID-19 case in Sublette County today. Sublette County has 6 active cases, with 627 recoveries, and seven deaths, for a total of 640 cases since the pandemic began.
