4A West Regional Girl’s Track Results: Lady Tigers finish second behind titles from Crouch and relay teams; Green River led by Givens, Dewey and Turnbull

EVANSTON – All the months of work has come down to the end of the season as everyone is trying to put it all together. For the lady tracksters of Rock Springs High School, Regionals proved they are ready for state.

The Rock Springs Lady Tigers battled all weekend and in the end came up three points short of a regional team title. Natrona took the team title with 166 points with the Lady Tigers finishing with 163. Kelly Walsh, Evanston and Green River rounded out the top five.

While the team title just slipped through their grasp, several Lady Tigers came home with top honors. Maliya Crouch has been solid all year and showed why she is one of the leaders for a state title. In the shot put, Crouch’s throw was five feet better than Natrona’s Courtney Logan. On Saturday, Crouch followed her shot put win with a Regional Title in the discus.

Parker finished second to Hannah Carter, 25.63 to 25.64. Parker also took home a fourth-place finish in the 400 meters.

The 400 meters was a strong event for the Lady Tigers. Along with Parker’s fourth place, Makenzie Kroupa finished fifth while Bailee Radakovich was right behind in sixth. Radakovich also added a sixth-place finish in the 800 meters.

Joining Parker in the top ten in both the 100 and 200 was Elyssa Simpson. Simpson’s highest finish was fifth in the 200 while crossing the line in sixth in the 100-meters.

In the hurdles it was Lyndzie Kroupa leading the way as she placed second in both the 100 and 300 hurdles. She crossed the line just behind Molly Fretland of Kelly Walsh in the 100 hurdles, 15.25 to 15.34. In the 300 hurdles, Lyndzie was a second behind the top time posted by Riverton’s Jensyn Pettit.
